Development History
MapleJava tells ChairGTables that there is a game jam for Vinesauce called Shroom Jam. Shortly later, Chair also finds out that there is a local game jam in their city, which is happening adjacently to Shroomjam. Due to this convenience, Chair used this chance to try out a new game engine to create a game. In another set of convenience, the engine they chose was also hosting their own game jam for the engine. So the three decided to participate in all three jams while mixing together all of their themes. In order to fit the themes of Everything is Backwards, Corruption, and Unexpected, they decided to make a murder mystery where you can corrupt suspects to rewind their testimonies. Unfortunately, the game was in an incomplete state for just about every jam, especially the local one, which only lasted for around two days. Due to the very incomplete state, Fonzi was in an unplayable state, resulted in Chair crying at the venue. The game was in a more playable state for the two other jams. The game placed somewhere in the middle of over a hundred entries for the Vinesauce game jam, while the game received second place in the RPG Paper Maker Jam.
Trivia
• Chair constantly made many reports to the official Discord regarding strange behavior with the engine.
• The audio issue was unable to be solved and was left there
• Chair wrote a good chunk of the story during breaks in his dayjob
"I am still a bit embarassed about our submission for the local game jam. It was a jam for the university that I graduated from, so submitting an incomplete game just felt like a huge blow to my worth as someone who already graduated. Still, it was impossible to finish a game of this length within two days, especially for an engine I never used before. As long as someone loves this game, the happiness I have outweighs the sadness I had at that moment." - ChairGTables, 2025
