Development History
In 2014, Chair was about to graduate high school, but promised his closest friends in his school that he would make a game loosely around them before they all move away to college. Chair underestimated how difficult it would be to create an action RPG with his current skill level. When Chair was getting close to graduating college, he broke down this project into multiple other school projects with each character being their own protagonist. Hazuki's game was a GBA game called My Wings Can't Fly. The game only had a minute of gameplay, so Chair wanted to give it the RPG treatment to tell Hazuki's story better.. Before Hazuki's demo was finished, the combat system had to be redone multiple times due to inexperience with making a custom RPG system. The demo released in 2023 while Chair was staffing for another event, causing a huge struggle. Chair realized that localization and other features in the game will not scale properly, but thanks to the friends he made along the way, he learned how to make these systems better. Unfortunately, many systems had to be remade once again, causing years of re-coding the game.

Trivia
• The battle system was redone around three times. You can still find the iteration in the game files, as it was using a completely separate object.
• After the Hazuki demo was made, it uses two custom tools for database value management, dialogue, and beatmaps.
• In the past, the beatmaps was made using Stepmania. The game currently uses the same beatmapper for Vocaless, which was later modified to better support Hazuki

"I know this game is taking forever, but the amount of knowledge I've learned from when I started the project is nuts. It sucks to keep remaking all the systems, but it's worth it. I'll keep doing it no matter how many times I have to do it, because it's honestly fun working on this. I give everyone my thanks for being patient with this game. I've been making smaller games on the side to help give additional context for all of the side characters you'll meet in this game. Thanks to everyone who has been playing those." - ChairGTables, 2026
